What is a Network Topology?             A n etwork topology is the arrangement of the elements of a communication network. It is the topological structure of a network and may be depicted physically or logically.   It is an application of  graph theory  wherein communicating devices are modeled as nodes and the connections between the devices are modeled as links or lines between the nodes. 5 types of Network Topology Linear Bus Topology         It uses one long cable referred to as a backbone .It is a type of network topology in which each device is connected one after the other in a sequential chain. The bus is the network connection between the devices, and if any link in the network chain is severed, all network transmission is halted.  Advantages Disadvantages easy to install if the main cable fails or gets damaged the whole network will fail cheap to install, as it doesn't require much cable as more workstations are con

What is a Computer Network?              A  computer network  is a set of  computers   connected together for the purpose of sharing resources. The most common resource shared today is connection to the Internet. Other shared resources can include a printer or a file server. The Internet itself can be considered a  computer network . 4 Types of Computer Network PAN (Personal Area Network) "portable"         -is a computer network used to interconnect devices centered on an individual workplace. It can be used for connecting personal devices, which typically involve a mobile computer, a cell phone, and/or a handheld computing device such as PDA. It generally covers a network range of less than 10m. Advantages of Personal Area Network No extra space requires Connect to many devices at a time Cost effective Reliable Secure Used in office, conference, and meetings Synchronize data between different devices Disadvanta
